Mission Statement of Retirees for Single Payer Health Care
Retirees for Single Payer Health Care is an organization of working class people dedicated to the passage of the Improved and Expanded Medicare For All Act (HR 676). While we are mostly UAW Retirees, we welcome any working class people who agree with and are willing to work for this outcome. We are dedicated to informing retiree organizations, in particular union retiree organizations, and others about HR 676.We know that the President and Congress must be held responsible for the crisis in healthcare and for its solution in this country.We believe that solution is Medicare For All (HR 676):
EVERYBODY IN NOBODY OUT - GIVES EVERY RESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE U.S. TERRITORIES ACCESS TO ALL MEDICALLY NECESSARY HEALTH SERVICES INCLUDING VISION AND DENTAL WITH NO CO-PAYS OR DEDUCTIBLES REGARDLESS OF EMPLOYMENT, INCOME OR HEALTH STATUS.
NON-PROFIT HEALTH CARE - CONVERTS ALL HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS TO A NOT-FOR-PROFIT SERVICE WHERE ILLNESS IS NO LONGER A SOURCE OF WEALTH FOR A FEW.
SINGLE PAYER - PAYS FOR THAT EXPANDED COVERAGE BY MAINTAINING THE PRESENT LEVEL OF FEDERAL AND STATE FUNDING FOR HEALTH CARE AS WELL AS TURNING THE PREMIUMS NOW PAID TO PRIVATE MEDICAL INSURANCE COMPANIES INTO MEDICARE PREMIUMS THAT ARE SHARED BY EVERY EMPOLYEE AND EMPLOYER.
